First, we need to decide what is the definition of bust? I have a simple definition for you'ins guys. I am going to use this definition- Knowing what you know about the player's career, would his team draft him again in the same draft spot? In this way we can decide any player's bust-ness. Peyton Manning would clearly not be a bust. The Colts would without question draft him again. Ryan Leaf? Obviously, the Chargers would like to get a redo on that one.
So, at this point, would the Niners draft Alex Smith again with the first overall pick of the 2005 draft? Come on Rushie, defend your boy. Is there any way that the Niners redo that pick? Just admit that Alex Smith is a busted up butthole. Defend your boy, butthole.

He played in a weak conference and was never that good to begin with. Shoulda been a 3rd rnd pick. So any real analyst would have predicted this. I probly wouldnt have drafted him period but he had a decent year last yr, by his standards. And your whole thoery is garbage, tons of first rnd picks end up being "dumb" first rnd picks. DeleteIsn't it better to have Russell be horrible for 3 years and move on then to have a guy that does just enough every year to stick around costing you many years. Now the niners had a great season but I argue that many many guys could have played the qb roll on this niners team.

I don't think Alex shitty is as bad as Mr. Kins does but as the top overall pick he is absolutely a bust. If Russell is your definition of bust then there might never be a bust again.
