Maryland takes the court against the number four ranked team in the country and the prohibitive favorite to win the national championship next month, the University of North Carolina. Let's live blog. Anybody else watching?
I don't know how anyone could best UNC. Hensen and Zeller are beasty. Marshall is probably the best pure PG in the country. Harrison Barnes is a lottery pick. Then they have four or five blue choppers coming off the bench.
Yes this team will Go as far as Barnes takes em. It's amazing to me that he is good enough to beat most teams by himself but always sets his talent aside in an effort to make other players feel good about themselves. He just always stays working perfectly within the offense.
I am off to a great start with the live blogging. Just trying to keep up with Marshall's hot start. Five assists in the first five mins and that isn't counting a couple of open misses.
A little background - my criticism of Barnes is only what he tries to do on his own. Having him within the flow of the offense, he is spectacular. A great rebounder, great outside shot and very good defender. Clearly the most talented guy on the team but (update - a long contested three after dribbling around for a while) but at times his ego derails the team.
This Carolina team emerged as a title contender when Marshall took over the point last year and took much of the offense out of Barnes' hands. What I want from Barnes is to look for his shots when the offense isn't flowing. Too often though he hijacks the offense when the team is rolling. His isolation shots often causes slums instead of stopping them.
Wut happened to Maryland Bball anyways? I think one sweet 16 in the past 10 years. Could be wrong. Carolina cockheels are miserable to watch, becuz they are too effin good.
Is it that the acc is that bad or do they just look so bad cuz of duke n Carolina are just so dominate. Pitt will get waxed by Carolina n duke just like all the others. Syracuse will be a good addition. I'd argue that overall big east will still be overall better deeper after the switch
Compared to Duke, Carolina, Syracuse, Pitt and solid teams like Wake Clemson VT? Duke Carolina and Cuse should end that convo right there. Should be interesting.
I cant Even talk about Rondo becuz i think he is gna be gone. We deserve the geico curse if we let him go. Especially for Howard. I dont know how i can love the Celts if they aquire Howard and get rid of rondo.

ReplyDeleteFYI - Barnes is shooting 46% on the season. Carter shot 69% his last year at UNC. If Barnes is bored then he is a bigger ahole than Vince was by alot.
