Colts press conference - Noon Eastern Time

The Peyton Manning Spring Frenzy is about to begin. Just twenty minutes away to the biggest free agent recruiting effort ever. As much as half of the league's 32 teams could be in play for the four time MVP. My hope is that he takes his time and visits every potential suitor. This is going to get crazy fun. Two predictions - he ultimately signs with a warm weather AFC team and Skip Bayless suffers a brain aneurysm by April 1st.

  1. Odd press conference with both guys driving in last night together and now standing together at the podium. Jim Irsay just seems like a giant doosh. Manning is going to enjoy beating the Colts next year.

  2. If Andrew Luck isn't great, Irsay is going to look like a total jag off.

Stop referring to the Colts organization as the horseshoe, you dick.

  3. If this was a movie then Manning would go out like Pacino in "Any Given Sunday" and announce that where he is going and that he is going to kick his ass next year.

  4. Enter the Andy Geico Curse. It is official. The Colts are now cursed. Later Peyton, go to Nashville bro.

  5. This is Peyton the politician. He isn't going to burn any bridge. I could see him coming back ten years from now and buying enough ownership in the Colts to fire Irsay as President with a coy smile thanking him for all his service.

  6. Manning is coming back with vengeance. Like Denzel in "Man On Fire". Death is his art form and he is about to paint his masterpiece.

  7. Geico and Irsay fucked up. Cursed. Andy will not win a championship in Indy. Have fun rebuilding and trying to cover up the puke Manning covered up for all these years. Only thing that will make this better is if Reggie and the rest of the free agents bail. Fuck you Geico, you shoulda begged Irsay to keep Peyton around for a year er two.

  8. I think baring injury that luck has 0% chance of being a bust. The move had to be made. It's tuff but with salary cap issues you can't have luck sitting for 2-3 years. Gotta play him right away. With rule changes it's a for sure thing that luck is really good. This was also best for manning If he wants a championship. If the red rifle can go in year one and win in cinci then luck won't be a bust

  9. Since major rule changes there's been hardly any real busts of the top of first rd picks. A few but many more haven't been

  10. If luck wasn't there then manning would still be the colts qb. But franchises have to look at the distant future. Colts will struggle for a couple years but Luck is going to be great. As for where manning goes ? Hmmm need time to think about that but right now I'm leaning Arizona

  11. The Red Riffle also had AJ Green(a fuckin freakish randy moss typa talent) and Simpson to throw to. If garcon and wayne are gone, with that dreadful Oline, he will struggle for a while. Colts had to take Luck, obviously, but it didnt hafto go down this way. They could have made it work. And for that they will be Geico Cursed for years to come. And that curse could very well come in the form of an injury to mr luck. Lucks the man but he still has proved nothing on the NFL level. I Dont think for a second that Dalton woulda had the same sucess without Aj and Simpson tho.

  12. I just saw the highlight of Peyton crying. Shit was sad yo. Haha. I think peyton goes to Seattle(great run game and a tough young Oline) or Arizona(great coachin staff that will allow him to run his O). Wizzy knows to let Peyton run with the O and wont be too proud to let him do so.

  13. Agreed that the colts will struggle. Remember manning was 3-13 his first year. They're rebuilding so I expect it to be tuff. But the question to pay a guy 30+ mil to sit on the bench for 2 years is just not gonna happen in today's NFL. And I don't think Andrew is ever gonna equal Peyton but not sure anyone ever will.. So Peyton for 3-4 more years or a really good pro bowl caliber guy for the next 15 years.

  14. My point about red rifle wasn't so much about him cuz I think he's really good and I liked him out of college. It was that with the success of guys like him that were later picked or even cammy that you just can't justify sitting a guy that's more pro ready then anyone. And we dont know how it went down but maybe manning said he wanted out if you're drafting luck? Wouldn't manning feel that by drafting luck they were taking away a potential player for him and his run now? By taking luck instead of trading for picks it says to manning "we aren't trying to go all out now"

  15. I think if someone says they would've traded the pick for a couple first rd picks then okay, I disagree but okay? But to take luck and keep manning I'm not sure manning wanted to be there in that case. So if irsay is the doosh it may only be because he wanted to secure the future with luck. I love manning. When I watch him I always say I'm not sure any qb has ever done it better but I would take luck no matter what

  16. Nah i think manning wanted out too. With or without him the colts are rebuilding so Manning probly didnt wanna spend his last days suckin on a team thats rebuilding. We all know how fans do it. Peyton starts out 3-5 next year and next thing you know the fans are screaming for luck. Im glad he is leaving and i hope the curse of the geico is as real as i hear it is. I know this voodoo bitch from New Orleans and she told me the colts are fucked.

    1. I agree that Manning probably wanted out. Had he wanted to stay then he could've reached an agreement to take away some of that 28 mil in bonus pay.

  17. I think it's a Montana/young scenario luck will never be what manning meant to Indy but in 5 years the fans are gonna be very happy they made the move.

  18. Its all up to the GM now. Andys got what it takes, no doubt, but they gott a put a legit squad around him.

  19. I hearing Denver alot now? If he goes to Denver I think they go to super bowl year one

  20. He will end up in Miami or Arizona

    ReplyDelete
  21. Seattle would be a great fit

    ReplyDelete
  22. Watch him end up in Minnesota with Adrian Peterson mentoring Ponder. It's a dome team, with fast recievers and the best back in the game. Then again every team not locked in at QB will think about snagging him.

  23. Sorry, been gone for a little while. First of all, the major f@ck up of this whole situation is that Irsay couldn't keep his big mouth shut. Take away dilbag's twitter! If he had said nothing from the beginning except that Peyton Manning was a Colt and they had no comment about the draft, then I think they could have options right now. As it is, they have to release Manning. It is like a marriage that is on the rocks. At some point both sides have said too much and there is no going back.

    But...

    ReplyDelete
  24. But...if Irsay had kept it shut, then what they could have done would be to redo a deal with Manning to make his contract a little more palatable. they could have taken Luck (his contract will be cheap - like 5-6 mil per year). Start the season with Manning and either Peyton is back and you could trade Luck for just as much or Peyton is finished and you let him ride off into the sunset as the iconic standard of your franchise.

There is a chance it still blows up and you aren't able to keep both but you would have more options. Dooshy just couldn't keep it shut

  25. I do think that if they had kept it quiet and let teams offer trades then the Colts could have rebuilt ally of what they had missing. I think people are going to be shocked at what the Rams trade their two spot for. The Saints gave up a whole draft(all seven picks) for Ricky Williams. I really could see a team like the Redskins going two or three first rounders and a bunch of second and thirds. If Manning is healthy then the Colts are going to look super dumb.

  26. He will end up in Denver. Suck it Tebow!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would be okay with that. Trade Tebag to Jax. Manning would look stupid in those lame uniforms though.
